The rishta, without the WhatsApp forwards.

A family shares photos and a voice note with the other family, behind a PIN. Not a folder that gets forwarded to a cousin, then a cousin's friend. One QR, one PIN, shared in person.

Nothing to forward, and access you can take back: change the PIN or pause the QR and the album is gone everywhere. A screen can always be photographed, so we do not promise otherwise. We promise the part we can keep.

Good questions

What does the person see when they scan it?

A warm lock screen: "Someone made this just for you" and a PIN box. Nothing about your message appears until the correct PIN is entered. Not in the page, not in the preview, not anywhere.

What if someone else scans the QR?

They see the lock screen and nothing more. Five wrong PIN tries pauses guessing for 15 minutes, and the content itself is never sent to the phone until the PIN is right. This is checked on our servers, not in the page.

Can I change the message or the PIN later?

Yes, anytime from your dashboard. Changing the PIN immediately locks out anyone still using the old one, handy if the PIN got out.

What can I hide behind the PIN?

A written message (line breaks kept), a link that opens as a button (a private video, a photo album, a map location for a surprise dinner), or both together.

Can they screenshot it?

A screen can always be photographed. What a masked QR gives you is nothing to forward, and access you can take back: change the PIN or pause the QR from your dashboard and it is gone everywhere.

Does it expire?

No. It is a one-time price and the QR keeps working. A gift should not come with a renewal reminder.

Can buyqrcode staff read my message?

Not from what we store. Your message does pass through our server for a moment when you create it and each time the right PIN opens it. That is how any website works. But it is never kept in readable form. What lands in our database is only the sealed box: your message encrypted with a key built from your PIN together with a separate server secret that never sits with the data. Our staff, our admin screens, and anyone holding a copy of the database see nothing but that sealed box, and a wrong PIN reveals nothing. The honest flip side: if the PIN is lost, the message is gone forever; we cannot recover it, and that is exactly the guarantee.

Is the PIN stored safely?

It is never stored at all. The moment you set it we keep only a slow one-way hash, strengthened with a server-side secret, the way good password systems work. The message itself is encrypted with a key built from that PIN, so what sits in our database cannot be opened without it, even by us. We never email the PIN and it never appears in any link or in the QR image itself. You share it in person, which is rather the point.
